Controlled synthesis and alkaline earth ion binding of switchable formamidoxime-based crown ether analogs.
The partial positive charge of amide protons is used to promote macrocyclization and form crown-ether analogs. Their deprotonation generates very selective pH-switchable alkaline earth ion receptors only in the presence of an appropriate substrate.
متن کاملSynthesis of a symmetric cylindrical bis(crown ether) host and its complexation with paraquat.
The first cylindrical host for paraquat derivatives was prepared and characterized by X-ray analysis. Its complex with paraquat has 1:2 stoichiometry. The complexation is statistical and strong as shown by proton NMR characterization, electrospray mass spectrometry, and X-ray analysis.
متن کاملA pentiptycene-based bis(crown ether) host: synthesis and its complexation with cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene).
A novel pentiptycene-based bis(crown ether) host incorporating two dibenzo-24-crown-8 ether moieties has been synthesized, and its efficient complexation ability toward cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene) in solution and in the solid state has been explored.
متن کاملAlkali Metal Ion Complexation of Adamantane Functionalized Diaza-bibracchial Lariat Ethers
A series of adamantane functionalized diaza-lariat ethers 1–6 have been prepared and alkali metal picrate extraction profiles determined. The ability of aza-crown ethers 1–6 to extract the alkali metal picrates was compared with that of diaza-18-crown-6 (7) and N,N '-dibenzodiaza-18-crown-6 (8). Na and K transport across bulk liquid membrane was also measured. The results of alkali metal cation...
متن کاملDansyl - Substituted Aza Crown Ethers: Complexation with Alkali, Alkaline Earth Metal Ions and Ammonium.
The present study investigates the binding properties of four dansyl substituted aza-crown ethers with alkali, alkaline earth metal ions and ammonium. The influence of the solvent polarity and protonation on the photophysical properties of the compounds was studied by UV/Vis and fluorescence methods. The host species caused only slight changes on the absorption spectra of the ligands. The fluor...
